There are many things that make this version weaker than my beloved <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0112130\/\">1995 mini-series<\/a> (casting, pacing, filming decisions), but it&#8217;s still P&#038;P and makes me happy. Part of the bonus features is the US ending of the movie &#8211; I&#8217;d heard about it, but I must say I&#8217;m definitely glad they chose not to release it in the theatres over here like that. Just. <em>Wrong<\/em>. *shudders*<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand I can pay more attention to the supporting cast now, which is at times really excellent. I&#8217;ve always rather liked Mary, for example, and here she&#8217;s just lovely. And I do like Mrs. Bennett much better here, because she seems less like a caricature and more like a real person.<\/p>\n<p>I have decided that I also absolutely need to have the <a target=\"new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0078672\/\">1980 mini-series<\/a> as part of my P&#038;P collection (which also includes an imported VHS of the <a target=\"new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0032943\/\">1940 movie<\/a> (the one with Lawrence Olivier).
