{"id":160,"date":"2004-07-18T09:34:21","date_gmt":"2004-07-18T13:34:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chocolatedream.net\/blog\/archives\/2004\/07\/18\/melissa-etheridge-live\/"},"modified":"2004-07-18T09:34:21","modified_gmt":"2004-07-18T13:34:21","slug":"melissa-etheridge-live","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/multifaceted-abnormal.net\/blog\/archives\/2004\/07\/18\/melissa-etheridge-live\/","title":{"rendered":"Melissa Etheridge live!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday I went to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stimmen.com\/\" target=\"new\">Stimmen festival<\/a> in nearby L\u00f6rrach, right across the German border, to see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.melissaetheridge.com\/\" target=\"new\">Melissa Etheridge<\/a> with Sibylle. It was absolutely lovely &#8211; the festival is right in the middle of town and had the most wonderfully relaxed summer atmosphere, despite threatening rain clouds.<\/p>\n<p>It definitely was my most laid-back concert experience so far. We sat in a caf\u00e9 that was part of the concert area beforehand and then went out when the opening act was playing. There was nothing like a &#8216;bad seat&#8217; (or better &#8211; standing room), and there was no pushing, no pressing, no angry faces. Instead lots of happy people enjoying a kick-ass show. Wow, does that woman have power! <\/p>\n<p>And she seemed to enjoy herself enormously, which affected the whole audience. I was actually a bit surprised at the diversity of people there &#8211; a lot of lesbians, of course, but really, people from all walks of life, of all ages and lifestyles.
