I’ve been wanting to change the layout of this domain for a while, and yesterday I finally sat down and finished it. Actually, because I had two images I liked, I even set up a skinning script, so people could choose between the two. Never done that before, but thanks to the nifty phpSiteSkin from Angela it works nicely!

Not dead yet
I know one could have thought so from my silence. But fact is, my life is just very, very boring right now and I don’t feel like whining about how behind I am on my thesis all the time. This won’t change at least for another month, when the deadline for my thesis is, but maybe longer, what with the exams coming up. All in all I won’t be done with uni until the end of February 07, I’m afraid.
But let’s not talk about that – there were a couple of other things in the past couple of months, like a family trip to Berlin, a week’s vacation in Como with Sibylle and the football World Cup. All of which has been documented in pictures, as you can see on my Flickr album.
So just consider this a life sign and please don’t give up on me! 🙂
ETA: Also, thought it was time for a summer layout, so I was a naughty girl and put one up while at work. 😉
New site, new layout
With the move to Multifaceted-Abnormal.net I also completed the domain revamp – feels a bit like spring cleaning, which is why I chose the Spring Fairy theme. Pretty, isn’t it?
Edited: For some reason, the layout keeps switching back to the default style. Now that’s just weird!
Attention!
I’m about to do the final step towards my new domain – it’s hard, chocolate dream has been me for so long, but I feel the need for a clean slate.
My new domain is multifaceted-abnormal.net.There’ll be a redirect to the new location – the domain name is still good until the end of April, after all. But please start using evamaria81 {AT} gmail.com if you want to reach me!
And a question: Does anyone want to take over chocolatedream.net? I’d feel much better if my baby didn’t disappear into the void on April 30th…
Sorry for the mess
I’m currently attempting to upgrade to WordPress 2.01, so please excuse any ugliness that might occur. The whole thing will lead up to my move to a new domain (part of my downsizing project), so just bear with me…
Edited: It seems to have worked just fine – happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! 🙂
Christmas layout
Decided that I needed a holiday theme for this site. There are surprisingly few WP themes around – I would have thought a lot of people would want to spruce up their blog. The only site I found was V4NY, who luckily offer five cute options. *pets the puppies*
New projects
There are two things I’m currently playing with – what with not having much to do at uni until starting my thesis in January, this seems like the time.
One is focusing my web activities – I currently own nine domains, just because it’s so easy and cheap to buy them, and it’s just getting too spread out and complicated. So there’ll be some big changes – I’ll even get rid of this domain, in all probability, creating a new one that is just my stuff, blog and all. But that’s in the future, as it’ll take me a while to prepare this move.
The other thing is that I’m thinking of creating a podcast – just somewhere where I ramble about my life in Switzerland, my travels, my interests. I’ve been playing around with Audacity, creating soundbites to use as title, ending and segment music. It’ll be Gilmore Girls themed, matching my new domain. We’ll see how that goes… 🙂
New site layout
Started a layout revamp for my domains several months ago and finally, finally finished it yesterday. The long time it took me to get it done is the reason why theme is a bit summery – the picture I used for the polaroid on chocolate dream is me, on vacation in Crete when I was 16. My mom took it and I just love the colors – Falassarna had the most gorgeous beach I’ve ever been to… Good memories.
In a little while I’m leaving to see Elizabethtown as a press preview. It’s good to have a brother who gets that sort of invites but is too busy with his girlfriend to actually go – only Wednesday I had the good fortune to see Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. Fantastic movie – and perfect fit for the upcoming Halloween holiday. Not that we really celebrate this over here, but anyway. 🙂
Reminds me: I should catch up on my imdb voting for the last few weeks.
AdSense
As an experiment I signed up for Google AdSense. Not that I want to annoy you with ads, but it might help me with my webhosting bills if people click interesting text links provided by Google. Well, we’ll see how it goes, I guess… 🙂
It’s over
My parents silver wedding anniversary has passed – and was a big success! Everyone (all 50+ friends and family) who came to Schloss Beuggen, either for just yesterday or to spend the night, enjoyed it and was more than kind about my and Michael’s organizational skills. Best thing, though? My parents loved it.
My mom wore flowers in her hair and literally glowed, the evening program (which Michi and I had carefully kept secret) went for a bit longer than expected but otherwise smoothly, there was lots of laughter and conversations between people who had either not seen each other in a long time (like me and some of my cousins) or never met before. There were loads of photos taken, but none of them by me, since I happily passed on ‘camera duty’ to others. Might share some pictures later, once they made their way to us.
Now everything has been unpacked, the gifts (which were given despite my parents asking for people to not bring any) have been unwrapped – and we’re all really wiped out. It’s been an intense weekend! Now things can go back to normal, and everyday uni life has me again… With that I’m off the internet, watching more ER and drinking tea. 🙂
ETA (‘edited to add’): Much less positive – my sites have been having some problems, as you might have noticed when you tried to access either the blog or the domain and came up with either a 404 or a strangely empty index page… I’ve had to re-open the support request regarding the issue about three times already – they always tell me they solved it, but then it happens again. Getting very tired of it, believe me!
