PHP question

I’ve installed PHPCurrently – but if you look to your right to the ‘currently’ section, there’s nothing there. Can someone explain to me what I did wrong with the include? (I have no real idea about php, so it probably is my fault.)

This is what I added to my main template (with brackets, of course): ? include(“home/chocolat/public_html/currently/current.php”); ?
I also tried several other ways (like ?php, or just “currently/current.php”), but nothing worked.

Would be grateful for tips and pointers!

My life these days

I’ve been thinking about whether or not to talk about this here, since it’s public and all – but then I decided that it’s nothing to be ashamed about. I’ve only just been diagnosed by a doctor today, and I’m not even going to start hiding it!

From SADA:

SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is a type of winter depression that affects an estimated half a million people every Winter between September and April, in particular during December, January and February.

Two photos from Basel

So I did manage to at least upload the two pics I took around here. This is Basel during a much too warm winter.

One is from last week, when they carted wagonloads of snow to the cathedral square (right in front of the Anthropological seminary) and built a little ramp for children to ski on. Too cute for words — they even had a little ski lift and real instructors!

The other one is not so much funny and more serious. Because after all, today is World Aids Day, and it should never be forgotten what a threat that disease still is. I even remembered to wear my red ribbon to uni — and the whole weekend our trams and buses looked like this:

Not much to say

Fact is that I’m once again battling what’s been the curse of the last two winters — I’m not well pretty much all the time. Not always do I feel really sick, but there seems to be always something wrong with me. And that pulls me down.

Which is why I’ve been so quiet here — I don’t feel like moaning and complaining here, and I don’t have the energy to chatter about nothing. I still have those NZ/Australia pics to upload, as well as a couple of new pics from around here. But once again, I just don’t have the energy. Hopefully soon, though.

Christmas time has started, which I love, even if it seems as if time has simply flown by. Next Saturday is Santa Claus here — and since I don’t have to work, I’ll probably make my first visit to the Christmas market to have a look for gifts. Also I’ve got more than 20 cards to write still, and that is after sending off 22 already…

One was more a package, for my hosts from New Plymouth, who just last week welcomed a little boy into their family. A pity that I missed him! Looks as if I’ll have to go back, and be it just to meet the little guy… 🙂

Still alive

I got home in one piece, if anyone was wondering, after an awesome week with Märrie. We giggled, talked, went sightseeing (Maastricht, a cave, and the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn) – and had lots of fangirl moments at the RingCon and while watching movies (most notably The Two Towers for the umpteenth time, but the first time for me in German -ugh! dubbing!-, and Matrix:Revolutions, which we spent making stupid jokes and therefore having a good time, despite the movie *g*) and such.

I took a lot of pics at my first convention, which I might post sooner or later — but I came home sick with a throat infection and am still not feeling very well, so I’m taking things easy (and lazy). Also I got the disc with all my NZ photos sent to me from New Plymouth, so that I now have almost all of the pics I took during my two months (thanks to my friend Stefan who restored about half of the deleted photos from my memory card, so that I even have some Australia pictures). That of course means that I could finally update the travel log – but this also will have to wait until I’m feeling a bit more energetic.

On that note I’m off to bed.

Going away

I’ll leave in about 15 minutes to catch a train to Siegburg (Germany), where I’ll visit my friend Märrie who lives in a tiny village close-by. We’ve met online about two years ago and have started a semi-regular cycle of visits back and forth, because we just get along so wonderfully.

We’re going to have such a good time again — we have a lot of plans including sightseeing, a trip over the Dutch border, movie watching, and of course our day at the RingCon in Bonn. It’s going to be my first convention ever, and I’m looking forward to it immensely — me, Gimli, Haldir, and several thousand Ring nuts… It’s going to be fun! 🙂

Wish everyone who reads this a good week — I’ll be back again next Tuesday.

Saturday Senses:
[sight]:: Describe a real life scene that you saw on TV that made you cry.
I know I must have cried about real happenings, but I can’t for the life of me remember right now. Probably about a real sappy reunion or wedding show, though – that sounds like something I’d do. 🙂

[taste]:: What do you usually have for breakfast?
A bowl of cornflakes and a glass of sparkling water (to wash down my vitamins). Also lately a cup of herbal tea that’s supposed to be good for my dermatitis.

[smell]:: Do you wear perfume or cologne? If you do, which one? If you don´t, why not? And how do you choose your fragrances?
I only use perfume when I go out (partly in the hope that it will stop me from smelling like an ashtray). I’ve got a collection of simple smells – green apple, vanilla, and coconut are my favorites.

[touch]:: How do you take care of your skin (body and face)? Do you use moisturizes on a daily basis? Share your tips. 😉
I’ve got dermatitis, so my skin is really dry. I use hand and body lotion that my dermatologist perscribed me. The body lotion is on an almond base, and sadly without perfume or anything, because I’m not allowed. 🙁 For my face I use a lotion for sensitive skin, specially now in winter.

[hearing]:: What is the sound or noise that annoys the hell out of you?
The classic scraping of nails over a blackboard. Makes my skin crawl to just think of it!
