Obsession

All in all I had a good weekend — spent Saturday with Adrian, taking a little road trip through Switzerland, and then spent most of Sunday in front of the TV before meeting a couple of friends for drinks and chats in the evening.

The TV marathon happened because at the moment I am completely hooked on the first season of ’24’, which I borrowed from Adrian. I started watching yesterday morning and am halfway through now — that show has me on my toes, that’s for sure… 🙂

This is the last week of uni before the break, but I’m not feeling very productive at the moment, regardless of the two papers I’m supposed to write and the article about blogging that I should have finished next Saturday and have not even started. This semester was over so very quick, it’s crazy, and I didn’t really accomplish anything. Hopefully I’ll be better next semester, what with spring coming and all…

And here’s this week’s Unconscious Mutterings:

  1. Identity:: crisis
  2. Reveal:: myself
  3. Live:: life to the fullest
  4. Attitude:: problem
  5. Night:: out on the town
  6. Nevada:: Vegas
  7. Weekend:: trip
  8. Write:: block
  9. Friend:: the best
  10. Seventeen:: I’m glad I’m not anymore

Killing time

I got stood up at uni by someone who was supposed to bring me articles to copy, so I have to kill time on this really crappy computer with an even crappier keyboard…

Unconscious Mutterings:

  1. Ignore:: me
  2. Death:: wish
  3. Missy:: Eliot
  4. Ballet:: dancer
  5. Guest:: house
  6. Campus:: Columbia
  7. Lonely:: girl
  8. Company:: dinner
  9. Helicopter:: ride
  10. Sterile:: conversation

Wow, those are weird answers! 🙂

Just a lifesign…

I’m actually doing pretty well. Just got a bit of a cold and was quite busy over the weekend due to a uni workshop, so I’m making up for the lazing about I couldn’t do then… 🙂

New hair

Eventually I will upload the snow pics, I promise – but first: my new hair cut! (Click for bigger pics – I wish I had that Magick thingie installed that creates thumbs automatically…)

I haven’t had a fringe since I was nine or so… But it’s kind of cool, isn’t it? 🙂

Quick update

I’ve been having a lot of ups and downs lately, which is why I’ve been so quiet. It’s hard to accept that sometimes the thought of the simplest things (like updating a website, going to uni, or answering emails) is enough to overwhelm me. On days like this, all I can do is to avoid anything that puts me unders pressure (even if it’s just imagined pressure) and try to cope.

It’s frustrating for me, being a person who likes to be pretty much in control of her life and her emotions, but I have to learn how to live with it, I guess.

And now for something different – Unconscious Mutterings:

  1. Political:: debate
  2. Concentration:: camp
  3. Fish:: without a bike
  4. Lunacy:: too close for comfort
  5. Red:: herring
  6. Imply:: what do you say?
  7. Recognize:: me
  8. Sexist:: pig
  9. Commercial:: value
  10. Stricken:: don’t hurt me!

Friday Five

I’m feeling a bit sick these days, which is why I still have not finished tweaking the new layout and why there haven’t been new pictures posted. Sorry. But here’s a little something: The Friday Five

At this moment, what is your favorite…

1. …song? Maria Solheim – Late At Night

2. …food? Frione chocolate – very comforting…

3. …tv show? CSI

4. …scent? peppermint tea

5. …quote? “I’m glad you’re with me, Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things.” Frodo in ‘Return of the King’ – awwww… 🙂

More site updates

So yes, it is still today – and Independent Love Song is gone. All I felt that I wanted to keep is my book recs page, which you can now find a link to on the about me page. I’ve moved some cliques, webrings, and put up an update info on the main page for major changes (although I’ll probably keep making most announcements here).

I also moved my ILS affiliate to the main page – so if you’ve got a personal site and are interested in being affiliated with chocolate dream as well, just drop me a line!

There might be some more changes in the near future, as Patty is still tweaking my new layout, and I’ve decided to start really making an effort here. And that also means making ‘real’ posts instead of just site updates. But not right this moment, as I’m pretty tired out now. 🙂

Birthday list

Since my blog is now running with php, I can add all kinds of nifty scripts. None of which I write myself, naturally — but nonetheless, as you can see to the right you can now add your birthday to my new birthday list. Fun! 🙂

Seriously, instead of playing around like this, I should probably finally upload the pics I’ve taken recently (and not so recently), but since I’m the queen of procrastination, I think instead I’ll get rid of Independent Lovesong. Not that I don’t still love my personal site (especially the title), but with this domain growing it’s become pretty obsolete and never gets updated anymore, the poor thing. And I don’t think that’s going to change, so I might just as well integrate the few original things on it into chocolate dream and delete the whole thing. Maybe not today, but in the not too distant future.

New layout

Patty made a new layout just for me, which I’m implementing right now. So apologies for any bugs that I haven’t fixed yet (especially in the category and monthly archives, seems like).

But – isn’t it the prettiest? *hearts*

ETA: I guess some hick-ups were to be expected, given my inaptitude with coding: I just can’t see where I messed up the coding on the monthly and category pages. Giving up for now, because I can’t see anything anymore at the moment. And there’s still the problem of the side table that does not want to stay positioned at the top. Any and all help is appreciated… 🙂

Procrastinating 101

I’m a bit sick at the moment, so I’m at home. But instead of using the opportunity to get caught up on stuff (like uploading the pics I took in the last days), I’m just lazing about. Well, I guess we’re all entitled to that when we’re sick.

Just glad that it’s nothing bad – feeling better already, as a matter of fact. And since I’ve started light-therapy I haven’t really been sick, which is a big difference from the last winters. Makes for a nice change and the occasional not-so-great day much better to bear. 🙂
