Lifesign1

Spring has most definitely arrived - the weather is gorgeous most of the time. I’ve been doing some shopping for new summer clothes, although not in Rome. There all we saw were really expensive shops, so it was good old H&M for me again…

Anyway, meeting Sibylle soon to see ‘Dirty Dancing 2′ - Dirty Dancing being one of those movies that I’ve seen at least 20 times over the years (I think I saw it first when I was about 11), that is an absolute must. Hoping for an entertaining evening in any case.

Oh, I got rid of my old birthday script, because I never noticed the birthdays on time. I don’t look at my own blog site so much, after all. So instead I got myself a Birthday Alarm and entered all the dates from the old script. Feel free to add your own! The link can also be found to the left.

Okay, gotta go soonish - but first, this week’s Unconscious Mutterings:

  1. Finale:: question

  2. Martial arts:: Jackie Chan
  3. Flirt:: pencils (gimmicks from when I was a kid)
  4. Energy:: bunnies
  5. Flavor:: of the week
  6. Guess?:: what
  7. Accomplishment:: not so much
  8. Prom:: such an American thing!
  9. Diploma:: my goal
  10. Bloody:: Americans… *g*

Better late than never, right? :)

Interesting blog

Rome was great - a lot of walking and seeing of sights was done in a bit more than two days. My feet are definitely glad to be back home… But that’s not the reason I’m posting.

I’m in class at the moment, Online Journalism, and was just introduced to the weblog of the Iranian vice-president. The real one. Absolutely fascinating and unexpected peek into a foreign world.

Oh my…1

I’ll be in Rome Thursday evening. Three days and nights in the ‘Eternal City’, and I’m pretty much freaked out. It’s weird how I can’t handle that kind of pressure anymore. But I’ve decided not to let my silliness ruin my chance to finally get to see a city I’ve been wanting to see for ages.

I just don’t know yet how to survive the three days until then, but I know I’ll make it through them without going crazy. So don’t mind me, except if you feel like being all envious… :)

Sunday again2

I’m feeling strangely lazy, a bit like moving underwater. Sadly, I can’t enjoy the beautiful weather, because I’ve got to go to work this afternoon. Have had a pretty good week, overall - Riverdance on Thursday was awesome, and Sibylle’s birthday party last night a lot of fun, as usual.

Maybe Regina and I will go on a spontaneous trip to Rome next Thursday (Ascension), because neither one of us has ever been. Hope this works out, it’d be pretty exciting, even if it’s just for three days or so.

This week’s Unconscious Mutterings:

  1. Playoffs::

  2. Morris:: Mini
  3. Break up:: is hard to do
  4. Eggs:: and bacon
  5. Parker:: Pyne (from Agatha Christie)
  6. Hardy Boys:: ??
  7. Deluxe:: Chicken (from McDonalds)
  8. Protection:: condoms
  9. Girl Scout:: brownies?
  10. Salsa:: everyone does it

Also, if you’d like me to remember your birthday, please go here. :)

Good day

Seems as if spring has returned - let’s hope it stays for a while this time around. I am really tired of January cold in May! For some reason I felt very content this afternoon, so much as I haven’t in a long time. I knew there were things to do, but it didn’t bother me - I just went my way and enjoyed every minute of being outside.

Even the hour with the shrink did not affect this peace, and I hope very much this is not a one-off… When I came home from uni, I felt so happy, I had the unusual (for me) urge to call people. And to anyone who knows about my slight phone phobia that should say something. Had a couple of nice conversations and finally hung up two hours later, having completely satisfied those weird social urges, in a very good way.

Also, I got a couple of cool computer-related links today, which I thought I’d share before signing off for the day. Just remember that I’m a Mac user, so this is mainly Mac stuff…

- SideTrack (advanced trackpad driver for PowerBook/iBook)
- KeyCues (find and learn menu shortcuts)
- iDucks (cutest USB memory sticks ever)
- BitTorrent and SuprNova.org (Peer2Peer file sharing client and a site with torrents to d/l)

And since I’m already reccing: Am currently listening to Maria Solheim, a young Norwegian singer who I discovered by chance a couple of months ago (picked a CD randomly in the library) and have come to love very much. I’ve been introducing people to her ever since - as Märrie puts it she’s “Dido minus the mainstream”. Lovely, lovely music!

Now I’ll turn in and will hopefully have as good a night as I had an afternoon/evening. :)

Listing management script

A friend of mine has been writing a PHP script to manage fanlistings and other listings and cliques. It looks so good, it makes me wish I’d discovered it earlier! But I’ll definitely try it out in any future fanlistings of mine. It can do pretty much anything you’d want it to do and is more versatile than PHPFanbase, which already is very good and which I’ve been using so far.

So check out Enthusiast, if you enjoy fanlistings and other things like that…

Taking it day by day

Been taking it easy since coming home - healing my shoulder seemed to use most of my body’s energy. And then, on Tuesday, when I was almost without pain, I took my bike to uni again - and promptly had an accident (involving a parking car, a car overtaking me, and streetcar rails), hurting my knees and jolting my shoulder. Apparently I’m not fit to do anything even the least bit risky these days… :)

Other than that I’ve become completely addicted to ‘Gilmore Girls’. Just love that show! Wish they’d release the DVD box over here, too, except only in America… But since the Austrian channel is currently repeating season 1, I’m doing what I’ve never done for any series before - I’m taping episodes. We’ll see for how long I can keep up with it.

And last but not least - a very happy birthday, Patty, dear!!! You’re one of the nicest persons I’ve met online and I’m very glad to know you! *hugs*
